The Conrad Challenge Junior Hackathon is a free two day virtual event that will introduce students to entrepreneurship and innovation. Students (ages 10-14, located in the United States) will work in teams of 2-5 to solve a real world problem and create a mockup of their innovation. Students will gain exposure to the Conrad Challenge including specialized workshops in business and product design, mentoring from Conrad Challenge high school entrepreneurs, and feedback from expert judges. No coding experience is necessary to participate.
Beyond the unique learning experience, students will meet fellow innovators from across the country on our digital forums and during community building events!

FAQ:
What is a hackathon? Contrary to the name, a hackathon does not involve any hacking! A hackathon is an event where individuals come together to create fun innovations or solve real-world problems in a short amount of time.
What if I have never participated in a hackathon before? No prior hackathon or technical experience (no coding!) is required. In collaboration with Rocket Club, we will teach students everything they need to know in order to submit a successful project!
What will I gain from participating? Students will gain experience with innovation and entrepreneurship. We will teach skills like digital prototyping, pitching, and virtual collaboration. Students will also meet fellow student innovators from across the country on our digital forums and during community building events.
When and where will the event be hosted? The event will be entirely virtual and will take place on Discord and Hopin on September 25th and 26th. The event is hosted on the digital event platform, Hopin. Other platforms such as Discord will also be utilized during the event.
Do I need to have a team? Students will work in teams of 2-5. Students can register with a pre-formed team or as individuals. If you don’t have a team yet, register and we will help match you!
Who is eligible to participate? Students ages 10-14 living in the United States are eligible to participate. Student teams are not required to be from the same school.
Is the event free? Yes!
